Bringing the men back to Newmarket
Friday 11th August - almost exactly 8 years since I first had contact with Hong Kong - I was finally able to bring the completed research back to its hometown. Newmarket is a small, north Cork town, mainly involved in agriculture. But that Friday one of its best kept secrets - the many Hongkong Policemen it had produced - were recalled as part of Scullysfest, its yearly extravaganza of music, arts, culture and craic.
